Snappy: Capture and edit any area of your desktop!

Snappy is a desktop-capture software for Microsoft Windows that allows to capture the screen of your monitor. Compared to other similar applications, Snappy could be less complete, but my purpose is to keep it as immediate as I can. Try it, and let me know if I'm wrong...

Snappy: Snappy 1.5.0 is now available 25/01/2012

Snappy 1.5.0 is now available for download. In this release:
  • Added new 'Area capture': define your fixed area once, capture it when you want...
  • Added new 'Aero mode' window capture, for better results with translucent/glass windows
  • Added window padding parameter to capturing windows and part of their background (dropped shadow included)
  • Removed extra border from maximized windows
  • Missing transalations on some menus were fixed
  • Portable installation is now self-contained (no more references to appdata path, even for temporary data)

Snappy: New version of Snappy (1.3.0) available 26/07/2011

Snappy 1.3.0 is now available. Some other bugs were fixed, and new features were added:
  • Added some new effects
  • Customized brushes can now be saved for later use
  • Added sound playback on capture
  • Added color lenses
  • Added effect chains
  • Added resize function
  • Added hotkeys for some common operations (undo/redo, save, zoom)
  • It's now possible to associate a custom command to every user driven capture
  • Sometimes snapshot preview will be showed up as a black screen: hopefully fixed

Snappy: Snappy 1.2.0 released! 15/05/2011

Snappy 1.2.0 is now available. This is version fixes some bugs of previous versions and, more important, features new functions and tools:
  • Added Magnifier & ColorPicker tools
  • Added webgit tool to capture webpages
  • Added basic drawing tools (now you can freely draw lines, rectangles and ellipses with various pen styles)

Snappy: Snappy 1.1.1 released! 11/04/2011

Snappy 1.1.1 is now available. This is a minor version that fixes following bugs:
  • Fixed a bug in date/time conversion for some regional settings (thanks Asen)
  • Fixed a bug in time format conversion when time is used in export filename (thanks Michelle)
  • Loading saved worksets will now overwrite current files (previously it was necessary to clear all images before importing)
  • Fixed image list painting, checkboxes where not correctly redrawn when app was restored
  • Some minor fixes in untranslated captions

Snappy: Snappy 0.9.0 released 19/05/2008

Snappy 0.9.0 is the first update to Snappy, the screenshots grabber for Windows. In this version many bugs are fixed, and some functionalities are introduced, such as the built-in screenshots editor (which allows to add elements like text or panels to the screenshot) or the possibility to add effects and filters to the captured images.

Snappy: First release! 10/03/2008

I think Snappy is quite ready for public test: by now, it was only used by some of our user: they have used Snappy to let us know the step involved in crashing our other applications... You can download a copy of Snappy here. Some features:
